Troopers in Columbia County stopped the Hyundai Santa Fe just before 1 p.m. Thursday, July 14, on State Route 9 near Stickles Road in Livingston.
The vehicle had been reported stolen from Livingston the previous Friday, July 8, according to New York State Police.
Inside the car troopers found three suspects, along with small amounts of crack-cocaine and heroin, police said. They also recovered a stolen Ruger 17 HMR rifle.
Police identified the suspects as Carlyle Gill, age 35, of Livingston; Jamie Shook, age 39, of Hudson; and Matthew Cornacchia, age 33, of Greenport on Long Island.
They were each charged with two counts of felony criminal possession of stolen property and two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor.
Gill, Shook, and Cornacchia were issued appearance tickets and are due back in the town of Livingston court Thursday, July 21.
